Helmet & protection
Choose a well-fitting helmet for the intended use. Fasten and adjust its straps according to the manufacturer’s instructions. A loose helmet does not provide a reliable fit. Gloves and additional protection may be useful; they do not replace careful riding. After an impact, follow the manufacturer’s inspection or replacement guidance.
Riding in Germany
For scooters covered by Germany’s eKFV: riders must be at least 14, design speed is limited to 20 km/h, and operating approval and a valid insurance sticker are required. Use cycling facilities; where absent, use the road. Pavements are generally off limits without explicit permission. Ride alone and sober, and follow signs and local rules.
Stay visible
Check lights and reflectors before riding. Bright clothing and reflective details help others notice you. At night, ride slowly enough to stop within the distance you can see. Avoid the blind spots of larger vehicles.
Brakes & tyres
Check tyres for damage and follow the manufacturer’s pressure guidance. Test the brakes in a safe place before setting off. Loose parts, unusual noises or reduced braking performance are reasons to stop riding and seek qualified inspection.
Charging & storage
Use only the charger specified by the manufacturer. Do not charge while asleep or unattended, and keep escape routes clear. Let a hot battery cool before charging. Stop using damaged, swollen or unusually hot batteries. Store dry and within manufacturer temperature limits. If smoke appears, keep away, leave the building and call 112 in Germany.
Respect wet conditions
Rain can reduce grip and braking performance. Slow down, leave more space and avoid sharp turns or sudden braking. Painted markings, metal and wet leaves can be slippery. An IP rating is not blanket permission to ride in rain: follow the manual and avoid standing water.
General guidance, not individual legal or product assessment. Rules and local restrictions can change. Check current official information and your model’s manual before riding.
